Holiday Logic in Bookyt

In the “Pro” settings, you can enter all holidays that apply at your location. Bookyt rental software provides flexible holiday management, which is taken into account in various places, especially for station opening hours and rates.

Creating and maintaining holidays

  • In the system settings, you can enter holidays for the respective year.
  • This data affects station opening hours and ensures that holidays are visually highlighted in the occupancy schedule.

Base rental vs. additional-duration amount

  • Base rental: The first rental period (e.g., one day or one weekend) is covered by the defined base or flat rate.
  • Additional-duration amount: If the rental period exceeds this base rental, the so-called additional-duration amount applies. According to Bookyt’s default setting, holidays are taken into account in rate calculation.

Pickup day

When calculating the rate for the pickup day, the software does not distinguish between a holiday and a regular weekday. As a result, the holiday price for the first rental day may not be applied automatically.

Adjusting the rate setting

If you want a different price to apply from the pickup day (holiday) onward, you can configure this accordingly in rate management. Check the settings for the holiday surcharge there or create a special rate for holidays so that the price is applied from the very first rental day.

Summary

  • Maintain holidays: Opening hours and highlighting in the occupancy schedule are updated automatically.
  • Check rates: A holiday rate for the base rental must be stored separately in rate management if it should apply from the first day.
  • Additional-duration amount: Holidays are usually only calculated after the base rental has been exceeded, unless there is a special rate for the first day.

With these steps, you ensure that all holidays are correctly included in price calculation and are also charged accordingly when pickup takes place on a holiday. If you have any further questions or need support, we will be happy to help.
